Took Ollie out on his first ever shoot today and I am so very proud of him. I had all sort of visions of things that might go wrong but the boy did good.
He hunted and kept the beating line. He flushed his first pheasant up in seconds and then sat and watched it go. After that there was no stopping him, he went in all covers and never stopped working.
He was sent in for a pricked bird and found it in some undergrowth, bringing it back to me. This is really the first time he has ever picked up game so I was gobsmacked.
The guns said he was a cracking little dog and next time he is going to do more picking up!
