ESSW are desperate for foster homes, we have a lot of dogs looking for homes at the moment and due to the lack of foster homes available we are placing some of them in kennels which we would rather not do as a lot of the dogs are not used to kennels. All the kennel staff do a wonderful job and make sure the dogs are well cared for and exercised which is more than they had in the homes they were collected from. We only move dogs if we feel there is a serious problem which would be detrimental to the dogs welfare or state of mind and some of the dogs we currently have in kennels could have suffered mentally or physically if they were not moved but they would benefit from being fostered instead of kennelled.
If you think you could offer a foster home to one of our dogs please get in touch, details can be found on the website and we can arrange for one of our coordinators to get in touch. All rescues are experiencing a huge amount of dogs coming in and without the fantastic volunteers who help the dogs there would be many more healthy and happy dogs being PTS because of lack of spaces and costs involved. We've got lots of homes waiting so hopefully any foster dog wouldn't be in for any length of time but while they are given the chance of being fostered it gives us the breathing space to find the right home for the dog and for the foster carer to tell us so much more about the dog they are looking after which in turn will help us to get the right home for the dog when the time comes. Please consider helping, it's very rewarding work and ESSW will help towards the keep of the dog whilst in foster and give you all the support you need
All dogs will be assessed prior to being available for fostering and we will only place a dog in a foster home where we would be sure the carer is experienced to help and the dog will be happy in their care.
Please help if you can
Thank you
Sandy
