While I was away at half term Timmy had his first proper bone from the butchers. It took him a while to get the hang of it but once he did he loved it.
The next time we went out I got him a bag and he has had a new one today (the old one is still kicking about and he is still have a chomp on it).
His had this one for a couple of hours and has started doing a wierd burying thing. He obviously wants to put it down but isn't quiet sure what to do with it. He took it over and got up on the sofa with Lee, Lee asked him for it and he gave it to him so we put it under the cusion to see if that would settle him, he started pushing imaginary "stuff" over it with his nose. He's left it there long enough to eat his dinner but he's taken it out from under is cushion and has taken it out and dug a hole in the garden for it. Unfortunately he's picked a spot right next to the fence. He never did it with the other one.
We've ummed and arghed about and in the end decided to go out and get it - I went up with him and told him to find it and he's carried it back in to the house, we tried to encourge him to bury in his bed of blankets but that wasn't good enough, he's carried it around crying so I've taken it away. He's just been round and checked all the places that its been - checked his bed and is now flaked out fast asleep.
Have I done the right thing taking it away? should I have let him bury it in the garden and if so do I just let him dig it up when he fancies it? does it need to be washed after its been in the ground?
Gosh, such a long post, such a lot of questions! SORRY!!
