Hi all
I've only had male dogs for a long long time, and I need some info about little girly dogs
Jess has been with us for about 2 months now, and is getting on very well with both the boys
However, in the last week, Benji has suddenly started humping her at every opportunity, and I honestly think that she is flirting with him
She was spayed when she first came here, but I'm wondering if a bitch can still produce hormones at the time when she would have come into season
Every time I leave the room, I can hear this huffing and puffing, Benji is getting quite worn out
, Charlie is totally bemused....he thinks they are playing and wants to join in so woofs at them and runs round and round
, and Jess just stands there, smiling and looking very pleased with herself
Should I stop it? Does it hurt them? Could it lead to a phantom pregnancy
Or do I just let them get on with it
I should mention that Benji is neutered, but was only done at 2 years, and certainly knows what to do, having coupled with Jack Russell (long legged
) at the farm a few years ago
