I'm tempted to go and get him but I already have 9 rescue dogs.

Warden said he's very placid.

maybe you can get rescue back up if you are willing to get him. Its so hard not to collect them all isn't it!

I've been told that local rescues usually take dogs out of this pound but they are full to the brim at the moment and that's why he desperately needs out of there.

I've crossposted on fb to northern ireland page last night. Really hoping someone can help him. Warden said he's very placid. He looks such a gentle wee chap.

so it looks as if even if his elease fee was paid he would have nowhere to go to , ie rehoming/rescue centre

there are alos lots of springers and cockers on dogsblog over here mostly with dorset rescue, some of which came from ireland, also diana brimblecome rescue take them from ireland...cldnt get on spring thing yesterday for some reason...did ring but think it was out of time for the morning office opening times... dont think I cld have another as riley had to share his home with 5 children previously. but friends are in ireland for 10 days in car h'mmm

Hi Penderyn. When I spoke to Warden yesterday he said I was lucky to get him as he's usually only there to take phone calls between 10am-12am & 3.30pm-4.30pm.

Their website says they charge £15 plus £10 admin costs to rehome from them with free spay/neuter and microchipping voucher from Dogs Trust.

The pound is in Londonderry. Are your friends in Northern Ireland or in the South of Ireland?

They're going there today as the boys are competing in the world irish dancing championship in Belfast,, for a week by air but nanny and grandad are going by car and staying poss 10 days, but it wd still be difficult for me to have him sadly, go through this each time theres one. MizD Dorothy's.. groiup often pay the releae fee, but it looks like in this situation there arent any rescue places available for any f them?? oh dear they do tug at the heart strings, so many....

Hi Guys

Picked the thread earlier, rang the girls and they tried to get the warden. Eventually they did and he had been homed. Just home after spending the afternoon trying to contact...
Thank god all is well...

Northern Ireland and not far from South so we do try our best to rehome... Have managed to save about 8 since xmas.
We are a dog club not a resuce but we do a lot of work off our own bat.
But if you want to me to do anything from here you can pm me.

Oh Thank God he's okay & got a home that's great.

When I spoke to him he said there were 3 springers in the pound so he wasn't sure which one I meant.

When I said it was on the Rainbow Rehoming website he knew it was the liver and white boy as he was the only springer there when Rainbow came and took the photos. One of the other two is black and white.

I'm so relieved he's okay. I was kept awake last night worrying about him.

and he looked ok, some of the rescue Springers I've seen from Ireland have been in a terrible state
