Today is Monty,s third gotcha day
and today he did himself proud
Was out walking around local res and on moor land which had some sheep well of in the distance.
As we were walking I passed comment on how good he was not going off after the sheep, how ever that said would never let him be close by any sheep off lead as if one ran in front of him he would prob chase it. Then also passed comment that you often find a random one behind a wall when you least expect it and thats why he is kept close by and not allowed through open gates or over walls and has to wait till I have seen its clear. This is much to the amussment of my friends who say I am to strict
Well the obvious happened and saw Monty heading towards a sheep laid in the grass
so off I ran shouting like a mad woman off !! off!!!!!! and he did,nt bark and just danced around a bit till he was put on lead.
I then realised the sheep had got himself firmly stuck in a peat bog
and was exhausted and in lamb. If no one had come by it would have never got out and died a slow and awful death
So with Monty on the lead and the bog having dried up enough either side I was able to stadle the bog and grab the sheep by the scruff and dragged it out
It stood and staggered for a few minutes with thick peat mud up to its neck and then ran off to join its flock. Not even a thanks
Monty got a massive amount of praise and even better the whole walk he managed not to eat anything dead or roll in sh!!!!!!!!!
So had to get him some lovely hot sausages for tea and realised how far he has come in three years
