I was wondering if anyone has used CSJs delightfully named herbie mix for doglets.
We've been having a few instances where DeeDee is getting herself really agitated and anxious which we need to try and manage, as her getting anxious about something upsets me, which in turn makes her more agitated, so I then get more worked up, so we end up with a vicious circle
The sorts of instances we have revolve around routine and walkies
Routine wise, if things aren't done in a particular order she can't settle down like she usually does, her breathing starts speeding up and becomes shallow, and she starts being really drooly and panting with just the end of her tongue peeping out in contrast to the big pink floppy tongued panting after a good run round on her favourite field.
We went to see my folks the other weekend (they live on the Lincolnshire coast) and because she wasn't getting up, going to do the chookabos, coming back in for breakfast, then going out again for her 2nd patrol, she spent most of the weekend patrolling round like a caged tiger. OH and I got the chance to have some time together so went out for a while and DeeDee stayed with DS and my mum which she usually enjoys. However, this time she was even more agitated
Walkies wise, things have always been a bit of a battle, esp when she can't go on her favourite field. When we're going there, it's a case of a really bright and excited "field" and she is out of her crate pretty quick. At other times tho (unless it involves going in the car) she'll roll over on her back, try and put her paws up to stop her slip collar from going over her head. The growling is back and sounds very serious at times, altho there haven't been any teeth shown yet. When we then get her out of her crate, she sits and trembles while she's leaded up, and when we set off, you can feel her trembling down the lead. I had all this when we got ready for this morning's quick dash thru the raindrops, with an added bonus.....she decided she was going to go back into the house and after dragging me back to the door, it ended up as a tug of war to get down the road, which really isn't a ggod look or game to play, and doesn't really do anything to help with how I feel fibrowiese
So to the questions for today.....
Is CSJs Stroppy Bitch! something that may help with her worries??
If so, as she already has their Get Over! herbies, I presume they would need to be given separately rather than being mixed up together (I'm checking this with CSJ themselves, but if anyone has done it either way, how you went on with it, it could be useful to know)
Not so much to do with how she is, but as a potential cause of the problems, could it stem from how much time we spend together?? We're together virtually all day and every day. Could we be too close to each other as while we were at my parents, my dad commented that he thinks she misses me more than OH???
I know the supplement isn't the answer to everything, and that we need to reassess how we have managed things, and find alternatives to help keep her calm and relaxed, I'm just wondering if the herbies will help make her a little more relaxed with things, which could then help makie what we need to do a little easier for both her and us
