My Ollie is entire and 2 1/2 now he is generally good fortunately he meets all sorts and he is well socialised but we have had one or two bust ups mostly bravado with other entires Ollie is not a dominant top dog but he will bravely stand his ground if provoked he doesn't rush up to dogs I have learnt to read him well if I think another dog might be tricky mostly big dogs especially collies and black dogs not his fav a couple which we have had a bust up before mainly when he was younger he knows his place I just tell him 'leave alone Ollie' and he takes a good look susses them out takes a large semi circle around them and minds his own business he doesn't start first but it another dog starts growling he will get very verbal and cross I don't rush to put him on his lead this can make things worse he feels trapped I have learnt to be brave go with the flow let them find their own ground, just lately he has been getting a bit bossy to other younger boys on the block I suppose it's his turn now I correct him he sits by my side on his lead until he calms down he knows they aren't the threat so he has too behave. I walk in woods mostly so there are other distractions for him which help, little dogs no problem one yap frightens Ollie. The girls are never a problem they think he's too handsome to argue!!
